Jeffrey Venho

Music Chair

Jeffrey Venho grew up in Northern New Jersey where his mother taught piano lessons, and his father commuted to NYC each day to work at the NBC studios in Rockefeller Center. In eighth grade, he was thrilled to play his trumpet for the Tonight Show music director and trumpet legend, Doc Severinsen, who gifted one of his trumpets to him. After high school, he attended the Juilliard School on a scholarship and began teaching at the Rudolf Steiner School shortly after graduating with a M.M. degree in Trumpet Performance. Jeffrey has performed with many ensembles such as the American Symphony, the New York City Opera and numerous Broadway shows. The Rudolf Steiner School has had a big influence on the lives of his family. His wife, Clio Venho, is the RSS Drama Department Director and their two children, Aili and Cliff, attended Steiner. Aili, a professional singer/dancer/actress, is an adjunct RSS faculty member in vocal instruction who is often assisting in our school drama productions. Cliff is finishing his studies in Eurythmy in Spring Valley, N.Y., is employed at The Green Meadow Waldorf School, and recently worked as a translator (German to English) for WECAN.
