Alex Yagupsky
Math and Music, Grades 6-12
New York native Alex Yagupsky teaches music and mathematics at the Rudolf Steiner School. After studying piano in Europe, he began composition lessons at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he received a B.S. in Mathematics. While working full-time as a systems analyst, he entered the Manhattan School of Music to study under David Noon. His music has been performed worldwide: from his arrangements of Astor Piazzolla’s Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas recently premiering in Ecuador and to a New York production of Caryl Churchill’s play Cloud Nine.
