The #steinertenthgrade performed Antigonick by Anne Carson, an adaptation of the classic Antigone by Sophocles. Set in Ancient Thebes, the story follows Antigone, who refuses to obey her uncle, King Creon’s decree that her brother may not be buried. In line with the theme of the 10th grade play, an exploration of a hero and their community, Antigonick highlights Antigone’s journey and omniscient chorus’s response to her catalyzing act of defiance.
Antigonick was the culmination of the 10th grade’s 4 month long drama arts and crafts block.
