When to Apply

Applications for the 2021-2022 school year will be due in early December 2020. Supporting documents and financial aid applications will be due in mid-January 2021.

Parent-Child Program: We offer classes for children ages 6 to 36 months old and their caregivers. Click here for more information on schedule, prices and how to register.

Nursery and Kindergarten: Nursery children must be three by December 31, 2021. Please note that all children turning three between July 1 and December 31 will spend a second year in our Nursery before moving on to Kindergarten. Our mixed-age Kindergarten classes are made up of children who turn four by June 30 (K4), as well as children who turn five by June 30 (K5).

Grades 1-8: Applicants for Grades 1-8 should have a birthday prior to June 30. If you have questions about the grade to which your child should apply, please contact the admissions office.

Nursery and Kindergarten: Rudolf Steiner School does not require the ECAA (ERB) test results for Kindergarten applicants.

Grades 1 through 4: Applications do not require Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or (SSAT) scores.

Grades 5 -12: Students applying to Grade 5 and up should take either the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).

Note to International Students

We accept applications from prospective international students that are proficient in English and do not require housing. International applicants (for Grades 9 – 12) must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

Notification and Reply Dates

As a member of ISAAGNY, we notify families of admissions decisions in accordance with the ISAAGNY guidelines. Once families have accepted an offer, we request that they notify all schools to which they have been accepted. This courtesy is helpful to families on waitlists.

Admission to the Parent-Child Program does not guarantee admission to our Early Childhood Program the following year. A separate application will be required.

Early Notification reply dates are offered to sibling and legacy applicants in Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grade 1.
