Andrew Pisacane (Class of 2007) is an internationally renowned artist.

Andrew  has been named to “Forbes 30 Under 30” in Art & Design and “The 100 Leading Figures in Urban Art” in “Beyond the Street.” He is the recipient of three Fulbright scholarships to paint and teach in Russia, India, and Colombia. He has had a solo installation at Rice University Gallery and has been included in group installations at York College Galleries and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Andrew’s main practice has been as a muralist. He’s been commissioned to paint over 100 murals worldwide (some as large as 100 x 120) on every continent save Antarctica. He has developed a successful corporate clientele but has given back to the underserved in his hometown Baltimore by mentoring young artists of color.

Rudolf Steiner School has had a profound impact on the development of Andrew’s creative talents. From creating the main lesson book for each subject to watercolor painting to Rallou Hamshaw’s influential oil painting class as a senior, Waldorf has given Andrew’s imagination the freedom to expand and experiment.

That is why Andrew and I have continued to support Rudolf Steiner School each year by donating his art and framing to the auction at the Fall Fair. This year we wanted to donate the very first large-scale painting he ever created to the Spring Gala. When he was a Steiner senior, a client of mine offered her loft in Soho to Andrew to use to paint on weekends. I bought a nine-foot piece of canvas for Andrew to try. The resulting painting presently hangs in the hall outside the Lower School Assembly Room where thousands will pass it and appreciate the talent and beauty Steiner has helped foster.
